COFFEE AND CANINES
Coffee and Canines BY SUE HILL
Sue was inspired to paint this scene after a visit to her relatives in Cape Town in the summer. Near where they live is a pine forest where people in the area walk their dogs. During Covid a bordering u cut part of their garden wall out and installed a pop-up coffee shop. This has become a popular venue for people and their pooches to meet up for an informal coffee and chat with a beautiful view over to the mountains.
Sue prepared the canvas with a variety of papers, gauze and molding before painting the surface. She has used photographic references to kick start her landscape and then painted the dogs and people to tell her story with acrylic paints and medium.
She has sealed the finished painting with a matt varnish, painted the edges black and the back is wired and ready to hang. Sue has labeled the painting and signed it at the back. It is ready to hang.
