Flogged with a Feather by Sue Hill
‘Flogged with a Feather’ is an acrylic painting in landscape format. Sue was inspired by children enjoying some fun at Dopamine land, a recent show in Brisbane, ‘which is a multi-sensory experience that combines tradition mediums with innovative technology to activate your senses.’ These boys loved the pillow fighting under bright lights.
Sue primed the canvas with fluorescent orange before adding the figures and background. She stencilled feather shapes to give the appearance of a split in the pillows to add to the composition.
Sue sealed the painting with a satin varnish and the edges are painted black. It is wired and ready to hang. The painting is signed on the back.
